J’ai réussi (I succeeded)!

I just had to share, because I just received really good news. I just heard back from Dr. Bernard (in charge of modern languages here at SWBTS), and he said my translation of the French article that I completed in Aberdeen shows high ability to work with French. He is allowing that translation to demonstrate proficiency and I won't have to enroll in any further French classes or take the proficiency exam. That's great news, because my plate is full enough right now without adding another language class to it. That means that all of my languages (biblical and modern) required for the PhD program have been met! Yippee!!!! Just one more step closer to my goal of eventually graduating and leaving this place. =) Only 2 1/2 years left (God willing)...

Felicitaciones! (sorry, I only know Spanish) I'm happy for you about the no more languages part. Now we just need to find you a job here so you can extend your 2 1/2 years. Right?

Wow! Impressive. And here I'm beginning to wonder about my ability to communicate in English with any proficiency lately. I hope I'm just tired and not actually losing working brain cells.

Congrats. I'm very impressed, since all I know how to say in French is Rudolph the Red-nosed reindeer, and shut your mouth.
