Fall in Texas

Another catch-up post, pictures of autumn in Texas.
You know, since we're less than two weeks away from Christmas. :)

Brilliant sun shining on the canals

His halloween bandana says "I do tricks for treats"

Hanging out on the balcony

"Let's cheer on the Tide!"

Afternoons at the dog park

My coworker bought him this halloween costume - it's a monkey.
Unfortunately, his head is so big that it didn't fit.

Snuggled up on a cool autumn evening

I love fall before daylight savings ends, because the sunrises are gorgeous as I get ready for work.

What I've Been Up To (A "Catch-Up" Post)

It's been quite a while since I've posted. As in, I haven't posted since school started! My last post was about my drive back from vacation. So, as a way of catching up, here are some things I've been enjoying since August (not in any particular order).

1.  Spending sunny, hot afternoons at Grapevine Lake with Brodie, Shawn and Zoey.

2.  Hanging out with 100 Cambridge students on the All-School Retreat and Service Day.

3.  Scrapbooking... a lot! Yes, I'm still working on 2010, but I'm making good progress.

4.  My new SodaStream, a gift I purchased for myself using graduation money.

5.  Canal walks with my Brodie now that the weather is cool enough to tolerate being outside.

6.  Homegrown tomatoes - my tomato plant got a second wind when the 100 degree days came to an end.

7.  A Labor Day swim at Genny's pool with Brodie and Rachel

8.  Watching Bama football and cheering on the TIDE in another great season.

 9.  Beautiful Texas sunrises as I get ready for work each morning.

 10.  Sweet snuggles with my baby boy.

11.  Wandering around Southlake's Oktoberfest on the first really cool day of the season.

 12. "Wags and Waves" with Brodie at NRH2O on the last day of the swim season

 13.  A Texas Rangers win on the last Friday night game of the season with Kathy - plus fireworks!

 14.  Going to the Texas State Fair with Rachel in the rain - but look, Big Tex is back!

Road-Tripping

Just some pics from my road trip from Georgia back home to Texas in July. Brodie was a great travel buddy, even if he did sleep most of the drive. A highlight for both of us was our walk around the stadium at the University of Alabama - such a beautiful campus! As we left Alabama, there was a beautiful rainbow in the rear-view mirror. We had a few rough spots - mostly the hour we sat almost dead still on the interstate due to construction, and the rather sparse Motel 6 room we thought we were going to have to stay in overnight. But the trip turned out alright, and we made the drive in good time. I'm not looking forward to the next cross-country drive, though. Thank goodness I don't have to make that drive until Christmas.
The field!
Motel 6 - thank goodness we moved to a different room. This one was quite lacking. Of course, the new room wasn't fabulous, but at least it had a bedspread!
