Dallas Arboretum

Saturday was an absolutely perfect Texas spring day. I was thankful my friends Katie and Trent had asked me to take some family photos for them at the Dallas Arboretum, because that meant I could spend the whole day enjoying the weather. We got there mid-morning, took their photos, then wandered around exploring the beautiful flowers and letting their son L play. What a gorgeous day! And I got some great photos of their family (though I'm only posting a few here).

me and my buddy, L L loves the frog statues - he had a blast splashing me :)

After they headed home early afternoon, I wandered around photographing the flowers. I was SO in my element. It's hard to imagine a more lovely day. The flowers were gorgeous - daffodils, tulips, hyacinth, fuschia, Japanese tulip trees, and many others. The tulips are late blooming this year, so there weren't nearly as many in bloom as we expected, but the ones that we saw were so pretty. I love tulips - my favorite flower!
There was a little Texas pioneer village with a variety of houses, a schoolhouse, and a church. The church was so cool! The inside of it was literally COVERED in scripture! Wow!
Finally, I decided to take a break, relax and soak up some rays while I did a little reading. I can't think of a better way to spend a beautiful spring Saturday.
