A Week in Wet Disney World, Day 2 - Magic Kingdom
As you can see, our second day in Orlando started out quite cloudy. But we were determined that not to let a little (ha!) rain stop us from enjoying our Disney vacation. So we headed out to Magic Kingdom ready to enjoy our day.
Well, the Magic Kingdom should no longer be known as "The Happiest Place on Earth." It has now been renamed "The Wettest Place on Earth." We definitely got wet, though we stayed and toughed it out most of the day, wearing our ponchos and using umbrellas to try and stay somewhat dry. We rode all of our favorite rides, except for Space Mountain, which is closed for renovation. :( We spun til we could spin no more on the Mad Hatter's Teacups, shot aliens in Buzz Lightyear, enjoyed the carousel and raced around the Tomorrowland Speedway. We also saw the Country Bear Jamboree and Mickey's PhilharMagic shows. A new favorite for all of us was the Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor. They use audience member's jokes, and the animated characters interact with the audience - so cool! I texted in a joke, and they used it in the show, and Mike Wazowski even texted me back! :) We also did some other classic rides, like It's A Small World, Pirates of the Caribbean, the Haunted Mansion, and the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, but I didn't take pics of those.
We did have rain throughout the day, but thankfully it stopped long enough for the Celebrate a Dream Come True parade mid-day. Because Papa rented a scooter to get around, we got a prime spot to watch the parade. The parade was really good, lots of classic characters and great Disney tunes. We all loved it. Mom got her hand kissed by either Chip or Dale (not sure which), and I got mine kissed by a fox (not sure what show he's from, but oh well). It was also the one time of the day that I took out my digital SLR with the big zoom lens - I didn't want it to get wet, so it stayed in my bag the rest of the time. I was quite pleased with the pics.

We were all set to stay and enjoy the rest of the day and see the light parade and fireworks that night. Unfortunately, the rain settled in again in the late afternoon, and after a couple of hours of getting drenched, we were all freezing and miserable. So we headed out for a nice warm dinner at IHOP, but with every intention of making it back for the parade later in the week.
