A Week in Wet Disney World, Day 4 - Typhoon Lagoon and Hollywood Studios again

On Wednesday morning we decided to risk going to a waterpark. After all, if it rained, we'd be wet already. And we hadn't had any storms, just steady rain showers, so we thought it would be safe. So we tried out Typhoon Lagoon, the only one of the Florida Disney parks that we had never been to. It was a lot of fun, with some really cool waterslides, a salt-water lagoon where you can snorkel with sharks, and a huge wave pool that puts out a single ginormous wave every minute and a half. Wow! We had a good time riding the slides, and tried out every single attraction except the wave pool in the first couple of hours - the lines were so short! About the time we were getting hungry, the sun really came out, and so we actually put on sunscreen. Well, that was a mistake, because shortly after that a HUGE thunderstorm hit, and we had to take shelter. Murphy's Law - if you put on sunscreen, it will storm. Blech! We thought we would just wait out the storm, but it settled right over us and the lightning, thunder, and rain kept on and on. Let me tell you, we got some rain! Finally we decided to make a break for it when the rain seemed to let up for a little while. But it was still storming when we got back to the resort.
After we got clean and dry, we headed out to get some dinner, and the skies were actually really clear. Since we only had two more chances to see the Fantasmic show at Hollywood Studios, we decided that we might as well give it a try that evening. After all, the storms had passed, right? Not so much, we barely made it past the ticket counters when it started raining again. We donned our rain gear and rode the Tower of Terror again, then stood in line with the other bazillion lunatics out there in the rain, waiting to see if Fantasmic was going to be cancelled. Turns out, they won't have it if there's lightning in the area, so we missed it again, and that was our last shot (we only had one more park pass left, and we were saving it for Magic Kingdom). Oh well - we walked around some parts of the park that we had missed the other day, rode the Rock'n Roller Coaster again and tried out the Star Wars Star Tours ride, and headed out to wait for the shuttle to take us back to the resort. What a watery day!
